Graduate Trainee in the Company Secretarial and Legal Department
I joined Rotork in September 2011 as a Graduate Trainee in the Company Secretarial and Legal Department. Prior to joining Rotork, I completed a Law Degree and afterwards spent a year working in Beijing, China. Alongside working, I am studying towards the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators' Chartered Secretaries Qualifying Scheme, after which I will qualify as a Chartered Company Secretary.
A typical day for me includes dealing with a wide range of legal and company secretarial matters, examples of which can include researching legal issues, giving legal advice, reviewing commercial contracts and drafting agreements as well as a range of company secretarial matters. As part of the graduate scheme, I have visited various departments and offices in the business which has enhanced my understanding of what Rotork does.
I find my position at Rotork engaging and varied and I am given a good level of responsibility. The other employees are all very welcoming and most people in the office have chosen to stay with Rotork for a very long time.
