Technical Apprentice

I joined Rotork in 2010 when I was 19 to do the four-year technical apprenticeship. I decided to look for an apprenticeship because I had decided that university was not the way forward for me but I wanted to do something that was of a similar level to a degree.

A typical day for me could be a whole range of things including processing orders for the contracts department, stripping down an actuator, upgrading a PCB for electronics or liaising with customers or suppliers to order new parts.

During my time here I have achieved a Mechanical and Electrical Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) and my first year Level 3 National Diploma in Electronics. I have also learnt many things specific to working here at Rotork, such as product and assembly knowledge.

My ambitions for the future are to keep working hard towards my apprenticeship and get the best grades I can. I am currently working towards my second year Level 3 National Diploma and hope to go on to achieve my HNC and maybe even a HND in the future.

I enjoy working for Rotork as there is a pleasant atmosphere, everybody is willing to help and part with their own knowledge and skills. I'm always looking forward to doing something interesting and something that should test and apply my new skills in a different environment.

I would thoroughly recommend the Rotork apprenticeship to any young person; it is a great place to work with excellent employee benefits.
