Ease of Operation

Simple, Economical Commissioning

Simple, safe and rapid non-intrusive commissioning using the intrinsically safe hand-held setting tool. Torque levels, position limits and control & indication functions can be accessed and adjusted in any environment, with power on or off. Two-way data communication facilitates multiple actuator configuration. The technology offers significant time and cost savings in comparison with conventional actuator commissioning.

User Friendly Troubleshooting

The large LCD window clearly displays real time valve position together with active valve, control, status and alarm text messages with multilingual text capability.Backlit design visible in bright sunlight. The onboard data logger records operational, alarm and valve torque profile data, providing valuable information on valve and plant operating conditions.

Mount in any Orientation

Applications may require actuators to be mounted in a vertical, horizontal or inverted orientation. The IQ’s oil filled gear cases ensure continuous lubrication in any orientation. In addition the actuator display and pushbutton module can be rotated to ensure that it is always the right way up.

Separate Thrust Base

Separate thrust base design can assist mounting on valve and enables the actuator to be removed without jeopardising valve position.

Hand Operation

The handwheel provides reliable emergency manual operation that is mechanically independent of the motor drive. It includes a padlockable hand/auto clutch for safe operation even when the motor is running. The manual override can be engaged while the motor is running without damaging the actuator internal parts.

Multiple Fieldbus Connectivity

IQ actuators are fully compatible with the Rotork Pakscan digital bus control system and all major open fieldbus protocols including Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus, DeviceNet and Modbus. Wireless option available with Pakscan.
