Position Summary:

The Opportunity

Drive commercial excellence globally for a FTSE 250 engineering company that leads in its field. Formulate, reshape and execute Rotork’s global commercial and marketing strategy and play a key role in the targeted growth and maintaining the leading market position of the business, both now and in the future.

The Commercial Director is a new role that will play a critical part in Rotork’s ongoing transformation, shaping the company’s commercial approach, strategies and processes to enable scalability, maximise productivity and improve customer experience.


Headline Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the Rotork commercial strategy
  • Lead and embed a new value selling approach and  develop winning pricing strategies, to maximise profitability
  • Create best practice sales and marketing processes to implement change, making Rotork easy to do business with and driving organisational efficiencies
  • Optimise distribution channels and routes to market that drive additional business from existing customer base as well as new customers/opportunities
  • Contribute to the design and execution of an organisational structure including people, technology and process to ensure business continuity and growth
  • Assess and redefine skills and capabilities required to deliver our future strategy, hands on leadership with a focus on motivating to deliver a high performance culture


The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • An experienced global commercial leader, with excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proven expertise in commercial excellence, ideally within global engineering or heavy manufacturing companies, and across all elements of sales and marketing
  • Experience driving global commercial change, ideally within the B2B industry or consumer product organisation
  • Proactive leader with excellent commercial thinking and awareness
