Data Analyst

Position Summary:

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to help grow and develop Rotork’s solution that uses IIoT technology to gather product data from complex industrial environments and process that data to provide useful insights both internally to Rotork and to end users.

The role involves working within Rotork to obtain relevant product performance data for a variety of Rotork products, performing structuring and analysis of this data and working with 3rd parties to build models capable of determining remining product life and predicting possible faults. Also recommending optimum ways in which to present the data to meet the customers’ needs.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Using document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, sometimes joining customer visits, use cases, scenarios, competitive product analysis to elicit customer requirements.
  • Gathering and simplifying high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements.
  • Interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary sources and maintaining our databases.
  • Identifying, analysing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Participating in requirements prioritisation.

About You

To be considered for the Data Analyst role you’ll likely be driven, self-motivated and have excellent analytical capability.

You’ll also have:

  • Proven experience working as a Data Analyst, Quality Control Analyst or similar role.
  • The ability to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
  • Completed major projects with relevant technical or business involvement.
  • Technical expertise in data models.
