Position Summary

We are seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our product development team to work on our current and next generation of connected products.

The Opportunity

Working within a small team you’ll take an idea from concept to implementation making sure it’s fit for purpose. Working within the design process from beginning to end and supported by your peers, you’ll quickly gain knowledge and experience over the whole development cycle improving how you approach future designs.

Whilst our products look straight forward there is a lot going on under the hood and as a firmware engineer you’ll get to work with multiple different technologies such as: Digital micro-electronics, UI design, wired and wireless communications, IOT integration, Motor control and more. All with a focus on incorporating them into a robust and reliable solution for our customers to use in industry.



  • Producing up to date documentation (e.g. design documents)
  • Engineering the technical solution
  • Advising the project team on technical options and recommendations
  • Unit and integration testing to identify and troubleshoot potential problems
  • Evaluating innovative new technologies

Experience Requirements

  • Degree level education or relevant experience, in an engineering or science discipline
  • Experience in developing and delivering embedded industrial products
  • Experience identifying, analysing and resolving system problems
  • Demonstrable C programming bare metal embedded microcontrollers
  • Excellent verbal and technical documentation skills
  • Experience in writing unit tests to verify code functionality
  • Experience in developing code to a defined standard (e.g. MISRA, style guide)
  • Experience with industrial protocols e.g. MODBUS, Profibus DP/Profinet, HART Etc.
  • Experience of working to a design process and project planning
  • Hardware engineering experience/knowledge
