Global Head of Product Improvement Engineering

Position Summary:

The Opportunity

Lead the Global Product Improvement Engineering team to maximise return from our current product portfolio. Reporting to the Group Engineering Director, you will play a key role as part of the Engineering Leadership Team to provide strategy support to deliver Engineering Excellence Globally.

The purpose of this role is to manage and develop product improvement engineering activities globally by understanding our current product portfolio, our engineering capabilities and developing a strategy and alignment of best practice across the business to drive product manufacturability, efficiency or market position.

You will manage and develop product improvement engineering activities globally across:

  • Value engineering – including obsolescence management
  • Operational support – quality, manufacturing and supply chain improvements
  • Customer specials – supporting increase sales
  • Standard engineering process and procedures across the product portfolio

This is an new and exciting greenfield opportunity and would suit someone who thrives on a challenge and is excited by the opportunity to shape the role to support our growth plans. 

Experience Requirements:

  • Degree or relevant experience in engineering or science discipline
  • Proven success of strategic technical product management including leadership, resource and workload management
  • Experience of budgetary control, target setting, business plans and forecasting
  • Experience of working within a global matrix organisation
  • Experience of technical, commercial and operational complexities, with the ability to identify and manage key value drivers for the business
  • Knowledge of Rotork products and systems (flow control products, actuators etc) would be advantageous

  • Can communicate effectively at all levels
