HR Generalist

Position Summary:

Assists with the administration of the day to day operations of the human resource functions and duties.  This position will provide support to the Rotork locations in Mexico, Chile and Brazil as well providing support as needed to in the US and Canada locations. The HR Generalist will work have responsibilities in  recruiting, policy administration, succession planning, employee relations as well as help deliver group wide HR activities and ensure compliance with applicable employment and labor laws.  This position reports to the Head of HR Americas and will be based in Houston.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understand local business needs against Rotork Business and HR strategy, and assist the Head of HR and site HR Managers into translating these into local HR initiatives as needed to deliver the strategy.
  • Cultivate relationships across HR and throughout the organization to understand the business needs and environment with a focus on Mexico, Chile and Brazil.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures or elevate them to the appropriate the HR Manager or HR Senior Generalist.
  • Plan and coordinate new employee orientation.
  • Active involvement in the ongoing transformation programs across Rotork Americas including  shaping the operational footprint of Rotork USA.Maintain knowledge of employment law and labor legislation. Provide advice to managers and ensure uniform compliance of the such employment laws and legislation. 
  • Assist in the articulation of the values and culture of the organization and propose HR management activities which support the organization’s culture.
  • Work with site managers to identify human resources issues/problems and support in finding solutions.
  • Coach local leaders to build people management capability and develop behaviors which engage and develop a high performance workforce.
  • Ensure local delivery of global HR activities such as talent development, succession planning and  performance approach.
  • Assist with recruitment  for the three locations with support from the global talent acquisition team as needed.
  • Support Managers in annual compensation review (pay and bonus) including benchmarking of salaries.
  • Partner with leaders on ensuring a strong Rotork culture with engaged and motivated employees.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers and performance appraisals.

Candidate Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or closely related field of study, plus a minimum 2-5  years of experience required. Exposure to employment laws in Mexico, Chile or Brazil would be beneficial.
  • Must be able to confidently speak and write in Spanish.  
  • An interest in developing and building a strong business awareness and acumen.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Must have very good experience with Microsoft Office product including Excel and Power Point.
  • Able to build credibility and strong working relationships quickly and across multiple locations.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 20% of the time with international travel to Mexico, Chile and Brazil possible.
