Senior QA & EHS Engineer

Position Summary:

About the role

We have a great opportunity for a Senior QA & EHS Engineer to join our team in Wolverhampton to support the management team in the application of quality & safety rules and the Rotork guidelines on EHS in the workplace to include equipment, machinery and the working environment.

You will lead a small QA, EHS & Facilities team enthusing them to achieve the vision of the business through their activities and support senior managers to embed quality & safety into their everyday activities, cascading this to all levels.

You’ll be responsible for:-

  • Keeping constantly updated, identifying improvement opportunities in the integrated Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Management System which contains the procedures applicable in the company and the recording systems and keeps the critical processes under control.
  • Ensure the safe implementation of all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations and the deployment of all defined Rotork EHS requirements
  • Define and deliver a Cost Of Quality improvement strategy to reduce the costs of non-conformance and improve operational efficiency
  • Conduct internal audits and EHS safety walks, problem solving, investigation and KPI reporting activities, as required by Company management.
  • Collate, evaluate and analyse associated records for COQ to identify opportunities for process improvement and promotion of root cause analyses and improvement actions including engagement of key business stakeholders
  • Design, implement and document, in collaboration with the management team, the prevention and protection measures for the health and safety of people and the environment.

About You

To be considered for this role you will be meticulous and consistent in your approach and have considerable practical experience of managing an Integrated Business Management system. You will be data literate, analytical and process driven and ideally have had some exposure to process mapping. A tenacious and confident individual with the ability to work under pressure and deliver effective change, you will be communicative at all levels of the organisation.

You’ll also have:-

  • Experience of structured problem solving / accident investigation techniques - including methodologies for problem definition, root cause determination and validation and permanent corrective and preventive action (i.e. 8D, A3, 5S, Lean, 6σ)
  • Competence as a Lead / Internal Auditor, capable of completing 1st and 2nd party and hosting 3rd party assessments. Ideally you will be an IRCA registered Lead / Internal Auditor in either Quality or Safety.
  • Knowledge of product certification / type approval (i.e. ATEX, PED, Functional Safety) processes
  • Educational background in an Engineering related area or equivalent experience.
