Shipping Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Opportunity

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading the team in a way that ensures goods are prepared, shipped and received in a timely manner in order to meet our customer despatch dates and required KPI’s. This individual is also responsible for ensuring the department operations stay within budget and national and international legal shipping compliance.


  • Responsible for the day to day invoicing and shipping and for the creation and upkeep of documentation of key accounts and necessary key reports
  • Act as subject matter expert in regards to compliance in order to meet HMRC requirements and ensure rules are in place and adhered to in order to stay within legislation and compliance
  • Ensuring VAT is appropriately charged on sales invoices dependent upon latest VAT legislation
  • Liaise with the sales, finance, customer service and internal sales departments to ensure timely pick up of orders, resolve customer issues outstanding invoices/credits and ensure collection of goods
  • Provide direction to the shipping team, develop necessary KPI's and ensure established KPI are met and head necessary disciplinary actions

 Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of national and international experience
  • ERP experience
  • In depth knowledge of export legislation and compliance
  • In depth knowledge of VAT legislation with regards tax and duties on exports.
  • In depth knowledge of Incoterms
  • Experienced creating invoices
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment under short deadlines
  • Knowledge of documentation necessary during national and international shipping processes
