Position Summary
The Trainee Manufacturing Engineer will provide succession planning for the manufacturing engineering department and become a fully functioning Manufacturing Engineer.
The Opportunity
In this role you will actively contribute to the success of the department in the future and gain a wide knowledge of business and understanding of the interactions between different departments.
Key responsibilities will include learning how to provide full support to production and improving the overall reliability and performance of plant and production equipment and processes. Working closely with other departments, you will learn how to support the launch of new products and change management within production. Health and safety awareness will be a key priority in this role, as well as understanding, improving and implementing modern manufacturing philosophies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
Experience Requirements
- BTEC, HND or degree level qualification in an engineering related subject
The Successful Candidate
- Willingness to learn
- Willing to search out issues within the internal business processes and rectify
- Working to a deadline
- Ability to work as part of a team, and also on an individual basis
- Capable of setting and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards for the team
