Systems Sales Manager, UK
I originally joined Rotork in 1988 and completed the traditional 4 year apprenticeship. Once I had completed that, I was sponsored to go to university and completed a degree in Electronic Engineering. Upon completion of my degree, I returned to Rotork and spent a year in the Quality department. In this department I mainly assisted with printed circuit boards. I then moved on to the electronics department to become a senior electronic engineer. Now I am a System Sales Manager.
After finishing school I planned to go to college to complete a HNC. After seeing the apprenticeship advertised in the paper, I thought an apprenticeship would be a really good way to gain my HNC whilst gaining work experience.
In a typical day I would spend a lot of time responding to emails and managing my team of 3. My team is often away on business abroad, dealing with any problems on site, factory queries and demonstrating products. I may also travel sometimes to physically test our products.
I enjoy working at Rotork because it has been a very secure job for me. They offer very good benefits and have given me a very interesting job.
At my time with Rotork I have completed my HNC, Electronic Engineer Degree and I am a Chartered Engineer.
Rotork as a company has a good family atmosphere, it is a company I would highly recommend to anybody.
