HR Graduate, UK

What is your role here at Rotork?

I joined Rotork as a HR Assistant, and after a few months I had the opportunity to join the 2022 Graduate Scheme as a HR Graduate. During my time on the graduate scheme, I have experienced multiple facets of HR, and my favourite so far has been Learning & Development (L&D).

What kind of technology do you work with or activity do you do at Rotork on a regular basis?

We launched two new HR systems this year which I have been involved in, these being our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Learning Management System (LMS). I use our HR Information System (HRIS) daily, and my first role within Rotork focused heavily on the continuous improvement of HRIS. Within my L&D Placement I have also used Articulate360 software to develop training content.

What does an average day at Rotork look like for you?

Every day is different and fast-paced in HR, but in my L&D placement I spend a large portion of my day planning and developing new training content to make available to our colleagues globally. Part of the day will typically involve the continuous improvement of the LMS, and the remainder could be anything!

What were the main things about Rotork that made you want to join?

It is a well-established global company where I felt there would be lots of room for training and development opportunities, and the possibility for working abroad. Both of which have proven true.

What is the biggest positive about working at Rotork?

As cheesy as it sounds, it genuinely is the people. I’ve been fortunate to work in a few different teams so far, including one in Italy, and every team has made me feel very welcome and valued.

What makes you most excited about your future with Rotork?

The next few years will bring a lot of exciting changes and development opportunities within HR at Rotork. I am excited to be a part of it, and to contribute to Rotork’s success.
