The launch of the optional Mechanical Position Indicator provides increased flexibility as an option to the electric actuator range. The Mechanical Position Indicator provides local valve position indication.
The indicator disc is driven by mechanical gearing directly from the actuator output drive and remains connected during electrical and manual override operation of the actuator.
IQ actuators can be installed with an optional mechanical position indicator to show valve position in addition to the existing IQ LCD screen. The product is available in both size 1 and size 2 for the IQ3 range and can be fitted on actuators with either rising or non-rising stems.
The IQ range comes as standard with the internal 9 V battery which allows for local LCD position indication, even on loss of power, but many historic specifications still call for a 'mechanical indicator' to be part of the actuators design.
The Mechanical Position Indicator has an operating temperature of -30 to + 70 °C (-22 to +158 °F). It can be equipped with either an F10 or an F14 flange and has an IP68 certified enclosure.
It comprises only of mechanical parts with proven Rotork reliable design and is located between the IQ base and gear case. The Mechanical Position Indicator contains no electrical components and meets the same environmental considerations as the connected IQ actuator.
