Engineering Architect Product Digitisation

Position Summary

We’re looking for an Engineering Architect to lead the design and implementation of our cloud and device level IIoT solutions to providing a resilient, secure infrastructure across our range of connected industrial digital products.

The Opportunity

Based from our main office in Bath with the possibility of working remotely, you’ll initially be working as part of a small focused multidisciplinary team to develop an extensible architecture for our connected products. You’ll define the architecture of the system, specify the requirements needed to connect to it and will ensure that these requirements are met whilst supporting the teams implementing them.

With your guidance we will create a platform on which our new products and services will run and raising the standard of what customers can expect.

Key responsibilities include scoping and evaluating innovative (I)IoT technology, advising on technical options and recommendations and working with internal and external 3rd party teams to realise the solution. You will also be responsible for identifying and troubleshooting potential problems and producing, reviewing and signing off documentation.

Expected deliverables consist of identification, assessment and application of applicable IoT technologies, documented realisable architecture for an end to end solution and definition of requirements for products to connect and operate within the architecture.

Experience Requirements

  • Degree level education or relevant experience, in an engineering or science discipline
  • Proven experience in developing IoT solutions
  • Experience of collaborating with multiple 3rd parties
  • Experience of working with Agile processes
  • Knowledge of IoT Protocols, standards and platforms (i.e. LWM2M, MQTT, CoAP, AWS)
  • Experience with embedded RTOS development using Secure RTOS
  • Experience of developing connected products and systems for industrial environments
