Projects Supervisor

Position Summary

The Projects Supervisor is responsible for leading the planning, organizing and implementation of key projects & strategic opportunities as defined by key stakeholders within the business unit.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Americas Customer Services Manager, the Projects Supervisor will ensure projects are completed on-time, on-budget, to agreed upon quality standards and within scope.

 

Additionally, they will have a proven ability to develop and lead small cross functional teams  with a diverse range of skills and styles in a matrixed environment.

 

Building and maintaining internal relationships with critical stakeholders in Commercial, Engineering, Operations and Financial arenas is essential for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Develop project plans, execution schedule, and reporting cadence for assigned opportunities
  • Ensure an effective communication flow among the project team and key stakeholders to ensure project outcomes are met
  • Manage risks, issues and constraints and minimises their impact to ensure the success of the project
  • Produce project plan updates, budget updates and project reports and ensures final signoff and project review tasks are undertaken
  • Develop & refine core functional responsibilities for Commercial Project Managers assigned as direct reports, and subsequent tools and practices required to execute
  • Manage external relationships where necessary

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Formal project management certification/ qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Experience in using Microsoft Project or similar Project Management tool
  • Proven ability to manage large complex projects with multiple work streams
  • Strong understanding and application of Project Management competencies including scope, time, costs, quality, HR, communications, risk, procurement and integration
  • Effective leadership, coordination, negotiation and dispute resolution skills
  • Strong understanding of business requirements and technical limitations as determined by the organisation’s enterprise architecture
  • Ability to apply analytical and conceptual thinking skills to operations and system planning across a range of technologies

 

Desirable

  • Industry knowledge, experience or project related experience desirable; particularly within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Strong understanding and application of change management competencies
  • Experience in LEAN Six Sigma and/or A3 Problem Solving methodologies
  • Financial literacy to forecast and manage project budgets
