Our technical engineering apprenticeships are designed to create the engineers of our future. As an engineering apprentice you will have the opportunity to gain a well-rounded engineering skill set.

 

What will you do?

Our Technical Engineering Apprenticeships last up to 4 years. In the first year you’ll spend your time at Bath College learning about the theory elements and gaining some practical hands on experience. You’ll be learning a mixture of mechanical maintenance (stripping machines and rebuilding fixing any broken parts), electrical principals (building your own lighting circuits, just like the ones in your home) and fitting (making things out of metal using various machining tools).

In subsequence years, you’ll continue one day a week at college whilst learning new skills with our engineering teams. Your apprenticeship will have a mixture of on-the-job training where you’ll rotate around various parts of our business to obtain a well-rounded view of the business.

This includes:

Service Workshop – Getting stuck in with the products. Stripping it, fixing it and putting it back together.
Electronics – You’ll get involved in building PCB’s (printed circuit boards) and testing the electrical equipment.
Mechanical – You will learn how to design mechanical parts/ products using CAD software.
Research & Development – You will get involved in interesting research, design and manufacture projects.
Production engineering – You’ll get involved in a number of different projects from maintenance and refurbishment projects.


Upon successful completion of the programme, we intend to offer you a permanent role within our business where you’ll contribute to our growing engineering division.

 

What qualifications/ skills will you need?

Expecting A level (or equivalent) at grade A*-C (4 – 9) or GCSE (or equivalent) at grade A* – C (4 – 9) including Maths and Science.
Positive, focused attitude to learning on practical and academic tasks.
