FAQs

Does the input shaft speed RPM affect the torque rating of the gearbox?

Yes on occassion; a base ratio worm gearbox subjected to a high speed actuator has the maximum output rating reduced. This is to safeguard against inertia and the hammer-blow action of the worm output gear hitting the gearbox stop at speed. i.e. IW5 40:1 rated at 4067Nm, IW5 80:1 rated 4447Nm.
